INVOICE PAYMENTS

Once a custom project is accepted (either through customizable order in the shop or custom invoicing for specialty projects, payment IN FULL is required to secure a slot on my queue.

QUEUE

My Trello queue is updated regularly as I complete and work on projects.  The due dates I use are for my own reference and may change depending on the time I have, availability of materials, and my own judgement as projects are worked on. These help keep me organized rather than provide hard deadlines to meet.

Queue order is determined by a few factors: who has paid first, who I have materials for first, and similar projects I can batch together with.

Projects are tagged to describe their status (not started, started, completed, etc.)

REFUNDS

Contact me immediately if you need to cancel a project and we will sort it out.  If specialty materials have already been purchased, your order will not be refundable.

If the project has already been completed or is mostly complete, I will NOT refund you at all. Sorry!

Please don’t commission me unless you know for sure that you wont need a refund. It’s terribly stressful for both of us.

CLIENT SECURITY & WORK IN PROGRESS

Clients can reach out privately to ask for WIPs (images, videos) at any point while I am working on their items. I strive to provide good communication and am happy to give updates whenever I can.

WIPs may also be posted to my bluesky and telegram channel semi-regularly. If you want this to be a surprise, please let me know and I will not post photos to my socials though I will still update the queue for transparency’s sake.

I can be contacted via Bluesky or Telegram @somebirdyspecial.  I am available Monday-Friday, and usually get back to clients within 2-3 days (always feel free to poke me).

BLACKLIST/HARASSMENT POLICY

Please note that I can refuse service to clients for any reason if I feel unsafe or uncomfortable working with them.

I want to avoid this as much as possible of course, I always try to see the best in people, but any harassment or abusive behavior towards me or those close to me will not be taken lightly.

In the case of this happening, the client will be refunded and removed from the queue if no work has been started.  If work is in progress, it will be completed and shipped off ASAP.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, I don’t offer discounts without special reason or purpose. Asking will not change this answer.

I do occasionally offer discounts on items in my store. Matching sets of items will be listed individually in my store and will be listed at a discount compared to if you buy them individually. Beyond this, I cannot offer any discounts and still make money as an artist.

Absolutely, If you’re an adult 18+ purchasing these products, use them how you please.

Orders typically take between 3-6 weeks from start to finish, but this can depend largely on material availability at the time, my existing queue, and additional life events that may cause delays (I work full time in addition to leatherworking). Still if you have a hard deadline for a gift or special date, please let me know and I will see if it is possible! The earlier you order before an event or special date, the better!

I primarily design and pattern my own work. It helps me make sure I’m putting my own style and visual flair to the products I make. That said, if you have an idea, let me know as I am happy to work from inspiration or visual reference.

Please feel free to request it, just know that if its a new type of leather or something I wouldn’t usually carry in my store, there will be fees to cover the purchase of these materials.

Shipping is not included in the price and is an extra charge typically calculated at checkout on orders from my store.  Typically I ship via USPS or UPS and shipping prices can vary from $8-$15 depending on the amount of things you order. You will receive tracking information about your item about 12 hours after I drop it off with the shipping carrier.

I am happy to ship internationally, but do be aware that it can get to be very pricey and my shop is not set up to ship outside the US or Canada so reach out directly to me if you have questions about shipping to other countries.
